The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George

The Little Paris Bookshop The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This book's premise, a book apothecary who could use books to heal readers, was very enticing. I found myself loving the idea and wanting to learn more. However, the book takes a turn and loses its focus. Two-thirds of the book deals with three broken men learning to accept and deal with their regrets and shame over their lost love or their own actions and inability to accept losing as a part of life. Although the scenic descriptions of Paris and some of the flow-y language used was great, the story fell apart for me when the focus changed to the lives of these men over that of a book apothecary who could use books to heal readers.

My Thoughts: Not what I was expecting but I enjoyed the descriptive Paris scenes.
